- This year, Spock Days marked the 20th anniversary of the Klingon Assault Group, which is a fan club that also raises money for charity.
- The "Shave a Klingon" fundraiser took place in the morning with all the money going towards the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.
- To mark the Klingon anniversary, organizers invited actors who played Klingon roles in various Star Trek TV episodes and movies.
